If you want to be our next Meet, just let us know at TwiBetweenblog@gmail.com! We love meeting all of you!
Now, let's meet @Allissmith!
Questions for Meet a TwiBetween:
Age? 36
Married? Kids? Married, almost 15 years. One child, a girl, 10 going on 16!!
Declare yourself! Team Edward, Team Jacob or Switzerland? NEITHER!! Team Peter all the way!!! (But if you make me choose from Edward or Jacob, it'll be Edward, it'll always be Edward. Sorry, Jake!)
When/how did your Twilight obsession begin? Oooo...Ummm...I can't tell you the exact date, but it was JUST before Breaking Dawn was published. An employee told me about the books, because we'd been talking about my undergraduate thesis (The History of the Vampire Myth and How Literature has Changed it Through the Years: Ovid to Anne Rice) and she had read the first three books and told me ONLY that Stephenie Meyer had further changed the myth. The rest is, as they say, history. I borrowed Twilight from her, finished it in a couple days (who needs sleep?) and then ran out and bought Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. New Moon coincided with the birthday of my best friend that died when I was 16 - needless to say I fell to pieces - and in two more days, I was a hardcore Twilighter!
What is your favorite Twilight Quote? There are so many!!! I think #1 will always be: Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me. A very close second is Jasper's line: I can feel what you're feeling now - and you are worth it. (sorely missed that line from in the movie) I do love every exchange between Jacob and Rosalie, too, though.
What scene/line from the books that you love was missing from the movies? I think probably everyone else has said it, too, but the "You. Got. Food. In. My. Hair." bit from Rosalie and the entire dog bowl exchange with Jacob. I missed the fact that Jasper didn't get to say the "you are worth it" line as well. And the trip back from Volterra in the plane would have been nice to see. OH! And BLOODTYPING in Twilight. I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that come to mind first.
Who is your favorite non-holy twinity (minor) character? PETER!!! DUH!!! Hahaha. Actually, I've always been a Jasper girl, in truth. It was only after talking to for two years - AND FINALLY MEETING - Erik Odom that I fell in love with Peter. I'd always been curious about him, because of what he could possibly tell us about Jasper, but Erik bringing him to life definitely made Peter a favorite, too.
Which is your favorite Twilight movie? Oooh. HARD!! Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2 are definitely up there, because Bill Condon is AMAZING and totally gets these stories. Interesting fact, though, Breaking Dawn is my LEAST favorite book! A VERY close second (if you consider BD 1 & 2 one movie) is Eclipse, because Jasper finally gets his moment in the sun (ironic choice of words, no?). I loved the way Chris Weitz did the passing of time through Bella's window in New Moon, though, but was disappointed in the movie as a whole.
Which is your favorite Edward, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse or Breaking Dawn? The Edward that was closest to the one in my imagination was definitely Twilight Edward. The bouffant, the style, the uncomfortable looks, that was the Edward of my head. New Moon Edward was pretty close, too.
Review Breaking Dawn Part 1 in 5 words or less: Romantic. (to clarify - I'm not a romance girl - so take that as both a blessing and a curse of Part 1) Part 2? EPIC!
Renesmee- B.S. or creative name? Given the situation - fantasy, vampire/human baby - I think it's perfect. Although I am opposed to the entire idea of her . . . I do like the name. But not for a human. Ever.
What is your favorite Soundtrack overall? Twilight. Hands down.
What is your favorite song from a Twilight soundtrack? Tie between "A Thousand Years Part 1 & 2" by Christina Perri, and "Turning Page" by Sleeping At Last, and "Submissive Black Hole" by Muse. "A Thousand Years" because of the melody, "Turning Page" because of the lyrics, and "Submissive Black Hole" because of vampire baseball.
Ideal vacay? Trip to Forks, Rob/Kristen set stalking, Brit Pack concert in LA, or a non-Twi premiere? Just did Tent City and the LA Premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 2. That was both amazing and amazingly frustrating. Ideal? Probably Forks. Complete with a tour of all the filming spots. *nods* Yeah, that would be pretty darn ideal.
Are you going to the Breaking Dawn 2 Premiere? I did, yes!!!
Do you have a favorite fan fic you're reading right now? Share a link! My favorite fanfic ever was "Let Your Light Shine" by Lolashoes, but I believe she's pulled it. *goes to check* Yep! Gone. Sorry!!! I haven't really read much recently, but my first was Wide Awake, then everything by Lola, then MOTU. (Yes, it's really been that long since I've read fanfic. SEND RECS!) And EVERYTHING @amethystjackson writes (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/252097/Amethyst-Jackson) But, I do write my own! *cue shameless plug* "Midnight Sun Continued" http://www.fanfiction.net/~alliscullen
What is your favorite Non-Twilight film of a Twilight star? Oh wow. Umm.... Probably "Remember Me." I loved "The Runaways" too! I'm really can't wait to see "On The Road."
Do you have a TwiBestie? Wanna give them a shoutout? I have several!!! The first two people I ever really spoke to (on http://twilightersanonymous.com/ ) are Becky Crockett (@BeckyinPhilly) and Karen Philpot (@KalyP) the latter of which must've been my sister in another life! I've met so many lovely ladies throughout my time as a Twilighter (don't like the TwiHard moniker) that I'll never be able to list them all. Honorable mentions go to: @femkepemke (my Dutch twin), @ltlappleholly (my Kansas twin), @amethystjackson, all the @Team_Jack girls, Nikki Farley, Angela Cone, Angie Swaney, @Twi_Between, @kmuffin88, and there's so many more!!! And my BEST FRIEND FOREVER (gotta save the best for last) @WillJam - who I got into all this mess!!!
What is your favorite Twilight memory? Another one where several tie for first! Meeting Erik Odom in Tent City and his MOM telling him to GET BACK HERE, THIS IS ALLISON!! because he didn't recognize me at first (I have lost a bunch of weight), meeting and getting a picture with Stephenie Meyer, and seeing the premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 2 in Nokia Theater, hearing all those shocked screams as someone we love's head came off!! Three moments that I will NEVER forget.
Anything else you want us to know about you? Like most of the people I've met through this fandom, I hope to one day become a writer in my own right. That dream started YEARS before Twilight, and will always be. I make jewelry - have my own etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/allisbdesigning - and I love photography and I read like it is going out of style. I also write for a blog, I'm the Vampire Diaries guru on www.fangirlish.com! I loathe talking about myself, so that's probably all you're going to get! :)
Allis, the way you discovered Twilight was almost exactly the way I did (minus the thesis). This was an entertaining read! :)
